Late Victorian All Brass Mantle Clock

A very rare late Victorian All Brass 8 Day Mantel clock by The British United Clock Company 1895 - 1909. Adorned to the top by a proud wing stretched American Eagle, perhaps the eagle was a personal touch as a nod to the Davis Brothers who founded the company , they set up their business in the UK after moving from the USA.

The brass clock case was made by renowned Birmingham Brass & Coppersmiths Townsend & Co. The rarity of the this clock is down to the short time that the BUCC were in business. The company although highly regarded for their quality clocks were forced out of business due to cheaper imported clocks. 

Our featured clock has this week been tested and runs like a steam train. A good loud tick and keeping good time. The clock movements design means it can be easily removed from the rear of its case for winding etc. The clock measures 10 inches tall , 5 inches wide and is 4 inches deep. The clock is to be sold as seen and fully tested by ourselves. No guarantee can be offered due to its age.

All in all this a gorgeous and as already stated very rare find. Collection only.
